I have spent the past two years thinking about energy, climate, and decarbonization at a scale of one. An annual presentation; keynotes and briefings; my writing here.
At the same time, the potential changes in our interwoven energy, climate, technology, capital, and policy systems have scaled significantly. Some of that is measures such as the Inflation Reduction Act; some of it is international urgency; some of it is the collective sense that more action is possible now, than could have been imagined even a decade ago.
And as a result, I find myself called back to scale, so to speak. A significant challenge (and opportunity) deserves an equally significant response mechanism. Every sector plays a part, at every level from initial study to the last fastened bolt. Connecting it all is information.
Today, I am delighted to tell the world that I am a co-founder of Halcyon, an AI-assisted search and information platform that helps those navigating the energy transition and decarbonization.
We are in a bright age in which complex informational tasks that took weeks now take hours or minutes, where information technology can accelerate critical decisions, and where new tools allow people to work better, and do more.
